How we work
Portuguese is one language with two procedures. In Portugal a translation is certified by a notary, a lawyer or a consulate, and whoever certifies takes responsibility for its accuracy. Brazil requires a tradutor público juramentado — a sworn translator registered with a state commercial board; Brazilian authorities will not accept a translation from anyone else. So the first question is the country, not the language.

Do Portugal and Brazil really differ?
Yes, and this is the main trap. Portugal accepts a translation certified by a notary, a lawyer or a consulate. Brazil requires a tradutor público juramentado registered with a state commercial board. A Portuguese translation may be refused in Brazil, and the reverse also happens.
Is an apostille required?
Both countries are party to the Hague Convention, so a Ukrainian document is apostilled in Ukraine before translation.
