How we work
Finnish is not related to Swedish or Norwegian despite the geography: it belongs to the Finno-Ugric family, like Estonian and Hungarian. The practical consequence is simple — a translator cannot be chosen by linguistic proximity, it has to be a Finnish specialist. Finland has an authorised translator system, and some institutions require that stamp; at the same time the country is officially bilingual, so a document is sometimes accepted in Swedish — worth checking, as it can save time.

Frequently asked questions
Can a document be submitted in Swedish instead of Finnish?
Sometimes: Finland is officially bilingual and some institutions accept both. Check with the recipient — if Swedish works, you may have a wider choice and a shorter deadline.
Do I need a Finnish authorised translator?
A number of institutions require one. Tell us where the document is going and we will check before work begins.
Is an apostille needed?
For official Ukrainian documents, usually yes. The apostille goes on the original and the document is translated together with it.
